Paul Lennartz
Paul B. Lennartz, 88, of St. Marys, Ohio, died 4:37 A.M. Thursday, January 4, 2024, at St. Ritas Medical Center, Lima.
He was born August 29, 1935, in Celina, the son of William and Antonette (Kaup) Lennartz. He married Jeanette Siefring on September 29, 1956, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Burkettsville, Ohio, and she survives.
He is also survived by his children: Timothy (Kathleen) Lennartz of St. Marys; Randal (Elaine) Lennartz of Troy, Ohio; Sandra Dieringer of St. Marys; by his son-in-law, Scott (Sonja) Hertenstein of Dayton. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Lillian Brockman of Coldwater; Robert (Delores) Lennartz of Centerville, Ohio; Donald (Linda) Lennartz of Ft. Recovery; Dorothy (Gerald) Wendel of Coldwater; Eugene (Barbara) Lennartz of Ft. Recovery.
Also surviving are his sister-in-law: Mildred Mendenhall of Coldwater; Eulalia; Zumberger of Anna.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his daughter: Nancy Hertenstein; by his brothers-in-law: Vernon Brockman; Aloys (Hilda) Siefring; Cyril (Romilda) Siefring; Herbert (Irene) Siefring; Elmer (Rita) Siefring; Ron Mendenhall; John Zumberger and Walter Evers; by his sisters-in-law: Ruth Lennartz; Alfreda (Ralph) Rose; Lucille (Leon) Kramer; Florentine Siefring; Esther (Victor) Wuebker; Mary (Hubert) Liette; Virginia "Ginny" (Robert) Schaefer. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Melvin A. Lennartz and Billy Lennartz.
Early in Paul's life, he owned and operated Motel 33 while also being employed full-time as an auto mechanic. After retiring at an early age of 50, he was still hard working and kept himself busy owning and maintaining many apartment units. He was a handyman and could fix or repair anything and taught many others the same. When Paul wasn't working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, ballroom dancing; playing cards; spending time with family and friends and attending local sporting events, especially the Cincinnati Reds games. He especially treasured his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was very proud of his family and all of their accomplishments.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 511 East Spring Street, St. Marys, Father John Tonkin, celebrant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, and from 9:30-10:45 A.M. on Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
