Rosemary Zehringer
Rosemary "Rosie" E. Zehringer, 91, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Persimmon Ridge Rehab in Portland, Indiana.
She was born on October 18, 1932, in Mercer County, to the late Henry and Mary (Fullenkamp) Westgerdes.
In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Corky" Zehringer, whom she married on April 29, 1951, and who passed away on February 18, 1975; her grandson, Jordan Goettemoeller; her sisters, Lauretta Westgerdes, and Hilda Hackney; her in-laws. George (Salome) Zehringer, Jerry (Katie) Zehringer, Bill (Jen) Zehringer, Karl (Loretta) Boland, John (Flossie) Zehringer, Delores "Peachie" (Lee) Beyke, Jim (Rita) Zehringer, Florence (Arthur) Rose, Mary (Ernie) Zimmerman, and Ralph Zehringer; and a special niece, Linda Hackney.
Rosie is survived by her children, Kathy (Tom) Reichert of Fort Recovery, Dave Zehringer of Fort Recovery, and Lisa (Tim) Goettemoeller of Maria Stein; her grandchildren, Brad (Sherry) Reichert, Brandon Reichert, Morgan (Jeremy) Bubp, Wade Reichert, Kellen (Tasha) Goettemoeller, and Jacy (Kenisa) Goettemoeller; 5 great grandchildren, with one on the way; and her special nieces, Becky Klenke and Pat Prosser.
Rosie was a 1950 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. She worked for Reynolds and Reynolds for many years until she retired in 1994. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, the Alter Sodality, the church choir, Daughters of Isabella, Catholic Financial Life of St. Joe, and the Maria Stein Shrine Adoration Guild. Rosie enjoyed singing and dancing, and she was a member of the Sisters of the Disorder choir group. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, playing the piano, and spending time with family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St Mary's Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Guests may visit with Rosie's family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 3 until 7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9 to 10:00 a.m. at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A Daughters of Isabella prayer service will take place at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
