Eugene Siefring
Eugene "Gene" Siefring, 73, of New Weston, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at his home.
He was born on December 6, 1950, in Coldwater, Ohio, to the late Herbert and Irene (Huelskamp) Siefring.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Timmerman) Siefring, whom he married on November 3, 1973, and who passed away on December 6, 2003; his children, Craig Siefring, Chad Siefring, Sherrie Keller, and Bill Siefring; his sister and brother-in-law, Marlene (John) Bihn; his brothers-in-law, Leonard Bihn and Dale Link; and his in-laws, Chuck Timmerman, Peg Hart, Paul Timmerman, Don Timmerman, David Timmerman, and Marie Young.
Gene is survived by his sons, Eric (Amanda) Siefring of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Joe (Amy) Siefring of New Weston; his son-in-law, Eric "Rick" Keller of Fort Recovery; his grandchildren, Brent (Sarah) Luttmer, Libby Siefring, Hayden Siefring, Molly Siefring, Bryce Siefring, Garrett Siefring, Shelby Siefring, and Evelynn Siefring; his siblings, Barb Link of Portland, Ruth (Louis) Grisez of New Weston, and Cindy (Mark) Knapke of Fort Recovery; his in-laws, Emily Timmerman, Penny (Steve) Brunk, and Gary Young, all of Union City, Kay (Tom) Walsh of Bluffton, Indiana, Louie Hart and Erma (Bob) Stump, all of Fort Recovery, Pam (Stephen) Hartzell and Debbie (Tom) Bueter, all of Rossburg, and Gerry (Earl) Hartman of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gene was a 1968 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. He was a lifelong farmer and owned Gene Siefring Poultry. Gene was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Sharpsburg and the Fort Recovery Knights of Columbus. Gene honorably served in the National Guard and was a member of the Fort Recovery American Legion. He loved all his grandkids and enjoyed watching them play sports. Gene was always a happy and joyful person and never knew a stranger. He was a giving person and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Gene was a loyal Case IH fan through and through.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
Guests may visit with Gene's family on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 3 until 7 p.m. and again on Friday from 9 until 10 a.m. at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. American Legion and Knights of Columbus prayer services will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
