* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Donald Bonifas
Donald F. Bonifas, 63, of Celina, Ohio, died 3:43 p.m. Sunday March 31, 2024 at Vancrest of St. Marys.
He was born March 27, 1961 in St. Marys, Ohio, to Vernon and Angela (Vogt) Bonifas.
Survivors include: son Cody (Roberta) Bonifas of Celina; son Caleb Bonifas of Celina; four grandchildren: Myles Bonifas, Mazee Bonifas, Landon Bonifas and Connor Ward; brother Roger Bonifas of Orient, Ohio; sister-in-law Julie Bonifas of Defiance, Ohio; special nephews Chez Bonifas and Bud Bonifas and many other niece and nephews and extended family.
Preceded in death by father Vernon Bonifas; mother Angela Bonifas-Boberg; brother Paul Bonifas; brother Gerald Bonifas; sister Marietta Bonifas; and sister Geraldine Rupert-Minnich.
He had worked as a general laborer for various area companies including one in particular NUPCO Inc. in New Bremen. He also worked as a DJ for many celebrations and events under the names "Go Getters", then most recently as "Dandy Don and the Boys." He was a member of VFW Post #9289 in St. Marys, where he served for a number of years on its drill team.
His favorite pastimes included going to the races at Eldora, rooting for all Ohio-based sports teams (especially, the St. Marys Roughriders) and following NASCAR cheering on his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. He will be remembered as friendly and outgoing with a hearty laugh. Always willing to help anyone in their time of need, he often donated his entertainment services for various benefits. Donnie treasured the time he spent with family and friends, including attending a birthday party held in his honor the day prior to his death. Above everything else, he was a proud American.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High Street in St. Marys The Rev. Matt Overman will officiate the services.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home on High Street.
