Lowell Warthman
Lowell Dean Warthman, a hardworking man from Rockford, Ohio, passed away Monday June 17, 2024 at the age of 76.
He was born August 17, 1947 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Henry and Peggy (Gilson) Warthman.
Lowell graduated from Parkway High School. After graduation, he joined the Navy and served on submarines. Following his enlistment, Lowell went on to work for Goodyear until retirement.
On October 17, 1987 Lowell married Donna (Bollenbacher) Warthman, who preceded him in death on May 3, 2024.
Lowell loved his motorcycle, and took every opportunity possible to ride it. He was a member of the Rockford American Legion Post #508, and a past service connected member of the Celina VFW Post #5713, past member of the Celina Moose Lodge # 1473, and past member of the Rockford Eagles post #1292.
He leaves behind his loving children; son, Brian Warthman of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Heather (Jason) Rock of Crawfordsville, Indiana; and his precious grandchildren, Tony Rock, Mariell Thimme, and Maggie Warthman. Lowell will also be dearly missed by his brothers, Jack (Joy) Warthman of Rockford, Ohio, and Barney (Linda) Warthman of Willshire, Ohio; as well as his brother-in-law Jeff (Ginger) Bollenbacher and sister-in-law Rebecca (Terry) McMillen, all of Rockford, Ohio.
A beloved Navy veteran, Lowell's memory will be honored at a Memorial Service to be held at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, 111 W. First St., Rockford, Ohio 45882 on Saturday, June 22, 2024, starting at 11:30 am. Pastor Mike Husted will officiate.
Prior to the service, friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects during visitation hours beginning at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Following a brief memorial service, a Committal Service, with military rites, is scheduled to take place at St. Paul's Country Church Cemetery, 1538 Oregon Road, Rockford, Ohio 45882.
His presence will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
