David Frenzer
David Anthony Frenzer, age 83 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 after a valiant two year battle with esophageal cancer at home with his family.
He was born the son of the late Urban Carl and Agatha Elizabeth (Tumbusch) Frenzer, on May 22, 1941, in Celina. On October 30, 1961, he married Karen DeCamp, who survives, living in Celina. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law Eden (Mark) Merrifield of Piqua.
He leaves behind four grandchildren he adored; Nicole (Jonathon) Reese of Sidney, Joel Lefeld of Celina, Heather Greenly of Shelbyville, KY, Heath Merrifield of Asheville, N.C., two great grandchildren Calista (Isaiah) Otting of Minster and Kai Reese of Sidney and a great-great grandson Parker Otting. David is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law Phyllis (Danny) Martin, Joan Reeder both of Celina, Vernon Drees of Ft. Loramie and his brother and sister-in-law Joseph (Carol) Frenzer of St. Henry and his In-laws Teresa (Brian) Dutremaine of McAllen, TX and Dayle Ross of Celina.
In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his son John, daughter Heidi, his sisters Mary Lou (Dallas) Homan, Ruth Drees and two brothers-in-law John Reeder and Steve Ross.
David had a grand career in the field of construction, building Silos, he was employed by Peck Goettemoeller and Rebsco in Greenville. David was a very active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. He was an adult server, an usher, worked I. C. bingo and was a member of the Knight of Columbus Council #1800.
He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed racing having helped out in the pits for the local race car drivers. His hobbies were bird watching, feeding squirrels and woodworking building corn hole boards and creating gifts for his grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m on Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Rob Muhlenkamp officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Coldwater.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2024 and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina. Knights of Columbus membership prayers service will be held at 6:00 p.m on Sunday.
