Hidden gems on U.S. 127
Photo by Paige Sutter/The Daily Standard

Dedicated thrifters once again pick their way through the treasures of the annual U.S. 127 garage sales. From antique xylophones to full China sets to old yearbooks and calendars, the sales have something to offer everyone. People can expect to find deals of a lifetime with pairs of bikes going for just $25, free wood flooring and Christmas decor for less than a quarter. Admiration for the antique phones, typewriters and music boxes spreads across every true thrifter's face while on U.S. 127. Attendants never know what they can find until they go for a stroll along the U.S. 127 path that stretches 690 miles from Michigan to Alabama.
