Tiara Roberts
Tiara Fennig Roberts, age 76, of Celina, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
She was born November 24, 1947, in Celina, the only daughter of Philip L. and Frances B. (Jolly) Fennig, who both preceded her in death.
   Tiara is survived by her brothers: Philip (Cheryl) Fennig, Barry Fennig, and Larry (Susan) Fennig, all of Celina; nieces and nephews: Jerry Fennig, Rick Fennig, Megan Fennig, Jess Gibson, Kate Davis, Mark Fennig, and Gwen Gerken; numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, and her grandkids: Michael and Jonathan Gonzalez.
She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Diane Fennig.
  A 1966 graduate of Celina Senior High School, Tiara attended Wright State University - Lake Campus, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from High Point University in North Carolina.
Tiara was a long-time employee of Continental Airlines, based in Houston, Texas, and Continental Micronesia, based in Guam. She began her career as a Flight Attendant, and worked her way up to a well-respected position as Director of Purchasing. While working for the airline, Tiara's job took her many places in the United States and around the world, including: Micronesia, Asia, Guam, Japan, and Israel. She retired in 2010, ending her career while based in Panama, where she had been working for 10 years.
After retirement, Tiara returned to Celina. Tiara was very actively involved in the community, until her health no longer permitted her to do so. She was a member and served as Treasurer of the Durbin Bean Bake Community Club, and was a member of Iota Psi Chapter of Phi Beta Psi Sorority.
Tiara volunteered with the Mercer County Council on Aging (Senior Citizens), C.A.L.L. Food Pantry and C.A.L.L. Backpack Program, and served with a church mission group on a trip to Bangladesh. She participated with the St. John Builders, setting rafters just a few years ago, and also volunteered with Lots for Soldiers.
Tiara loved cats and had many rescues. She was meticulous about taking care of her yard and enjoyed growing flowers, particularly gladiolas and roses.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, at Mount Carmel Church of God, 2493 Carmel Church Rd., Celina, with Pastor Scott Rowe, officiating.
Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling Hours are from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, and 12:00 Noon until time of services on Saturday, August 17, at Mount Carmel Church of God.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the ALS Association, (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis - Lou Gehrig's Disease) Mount Carmel Church of God, or the Durbin Bean Bake Community Club.
