Lola Leasor
Lola Grace Leasor, 81, of St. Marys, OH died 9:40 a.m. Sunday August 18, 2024 at Otterbein - St. Marys.
She was born September 10, 1942 in Logansport, IN to Arthur and Josephine (Burkett) Sheets. On August 1, 1965 in Monticello, IN she married Paul James Leasor, who survives.
Also survived by: son John Leasor of Mishawaka, IN; son Donald (Dr. Michelle) Leasor of Pickerington, OH; daughter Dr. Heather (Dr. Oliver Macgregor) Leasor of Canberra, Australia; 7 grandchildren: Deann Leasor, Kyrsten Leasor, Eleanor Leasor, Lauren Leasor, Wesley Leasor, Cordelia Leasor, Carl Macgregor;1 great-grandson Finn Poelstra; sister Jo Helen (Pete) Krug of Mesa Verde, AZ; sister Phyllis Wilson of Sylvania, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents Atthur and Josephine Sheets; brother Wayne Sheets; sister Mary Jean Sheets; parents-in-law Carl and Mary Leasor; brother-in-law Sam Wilson.
She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Monticello, IN and International Business College in Ft. Wayne, IN. She retired from Miller's Textile Services in Wapakoneta, OH. Prior to that, she had worked as an underwriter for Franklin Life Insurance Co., as a payroll clerk for the public school system in Joliet, IL and at K-Mart in St. Marys.
She was a member of Wayne Street Church in St. Marys. Over the years, she had served as advisor for the Pin Cushion Pals and 4H Rascals. In addition, she served as a leader for the Girl Scouts and, both she and Paul served on many Eagle Scout boards of review.
Her favorite pastimes included Bowling, square dancing, ceramics, oil painting, reading and cooking.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 24, 2024 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys. The Rev. Tim Benjamin will officiate the services. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, OH.
Visitation 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Wayne Street Church.
