Elmer Mueller
Elmer Albert Mueller, age 79, of North Steet in Osgood, Ohio, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his residence, early Sunday morning, September 1, 2024. He was born July 21, 1945, at the homeplace in Yorkshire, Ohio, to the late Henry & Marietta (Drees) Mueller. On June 11, 1966, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Wendelin, Elmer married Jean Ann (Koesters) Mueller who survives.
Also surviving are four children: Tony & Tracey Mueller of Osgood, Jill & Eric Winner of Yorkshire, Cory & Lisa Mueller of Yorkshire and Jodi & Jon Sawmiller of Maria Stein along with 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Paul & Elaine Mueller of New Weston, Betty Bertke of Maria Stein, Carl & Lois Mueller of Fort Loramie, Bill & Nancy Mueller of St. Henry, Linda & Wayne Bowers of Yorkshire, Mike & Donna Mueller of New Bremen and Margaret & Rick DeMange of Osgood; sisters & brothers-in-law: Nancy Mueller of Egypt, Gerald Brunswick of Anna, Jim & Pat Koesters of Dayton, Bill & Kathy Koesters of Carthagena, Charlene & Lou Grieshop of Fort Recovery, Kathy & Roger Broerman of Fort Recovery, Mike & Jane Koesters of London, Dave Rammel of Sharpsburg, Nick & Darlene Koesters of Wendelin, Judy & Jack Gaerke of St. Peter, Steve & Joyce Koesters of St. Henry, Mary Kay & Matt Cahill of St. Henry and Frank & Diana Koesters of Wendelin along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Mueller, Fred Mueller and brothers & sisters-in-law: Stan Bertke, Joan Brunswick, and Beck Rammel.
In 2008, Mr. Mueller retired from Weaver Brothers Inc. of Versailles where he had primarily been the dock supervisor. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the St. Nicholas Men's Sodality, a 50-year member of the Yorkshire Goat Farmers and was retired from the Osgood Volunteer Fire Department. Elmer served as an honorary/volunteer deputy Sherrif for Patterson Township and years ago, played softball for the men's Stump Jumpers team. In his leisure, Elmer enjoyed raising Toy Fox Terriers, Chinese Pugs and patrolling the area, scouting for deer and coyotes!
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at St. Nicholas Church in Osgood with Rev. Stephen Jones presiding. Interment will follow at St. Martin Cemetery. Family and friends may call Wednesday, 3:00 to & 7:00 PM and Thursday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
