CELINA - For a soft opening with little fanfare, Smash City Grill saw good sales on Thursday afternoon as its staff churned out smash burgers, chili dogs, ice cream nachos and other comfort foods.
Located in downtown Celina at 109 W. Logan St., Smash City Grill has set up shop in the former Dairy Cone, which was long a community institution frequented by generations of families and children. [More]

CELINA- South Central Mercer Fire District officials are asking voters to approve a five-year, 2.5-mills replacement levy to continue funding fire protection operations.
If approved, the levy would collect $501,000 annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home about $87.50 a year, according to the Mercer County Auditor' Office. [More]

BUTLER TOWNSHIP - Butler Township voters will decide on a five-year, 1.8-mills renewal fire protection levy on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
The funds would be used to upgrade fire department equipment and keep up with state and federal mandates. [More]

NEW KNOXVILLE - Whatever nerves New Knoxville had in the opening set of its Division VII sectional volleyball match, they dissipated quickly.
The Rangers advanced to the Shawnee district semifinals with a 25-10, 25-5, 25-6 win over Ridgemont at the Barn on Thursday night, improving to 13-10 on the season. [More]
