Dale Miller
Dale Miller, 98, of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 11:13 AM at Celina Manor.
He was born on August 28, 1926, in Celina, to the late Clayton and Gladys (Lawrence) Miller. On August 17, 1946, he married Mary L. (Hirst) Miller, who preceded him in death on February 12, 2008.
Dale is survived by his children: Richard "Dick" (Cindy) Miller of Celina and Chris Poe of Celina; three grandchildren, Jason (Jamie) Miller of Coldwater, Ashleigh Miller of St. Marys, and Kyle Miller of Celina; and four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Caison, Elena, and Avie. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ann Miller; his son-in-law, John Poe; his siblings, Richard "Dick" Miller, Paul Miller, June Hyatt, and Sally Brown; brothers-in-law, Pat Winans, Myron Hyatt, and Bill Brown; a sister-in-law, Gloria Miller; and his special friend, Loretta Linter.
A proud 1944 graduate of Celina High School, Dale served in the United States Navy during the World War II era. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in St. Marys after 38 years of dedicated service.
Dale was an active member of Mt. Tabor Church of God in Celina, Celina American Legion Post #210, and Celina VFW Post #5713. He was also a past member of the St. Marys Boat Club, where he spent many summers boating and enjoying time with family and friends. In addition, he was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA).
Dale loved spending time outdoors, whether boating, camping, fishing, or riding his motorcycle. He cherished his time as a "snowbird" in Florida during the winter months, but most of all, he treasured the moments spent with his family.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
A funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Mt. Tabor Church of God, 9744 US-127, Celina, Ohio 45822, with Pastor Darwin Dunten officiating. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery in Mendon, Ohio, where military rites will be conducted by the Celina American Legion Post #210 and Celina VFW Post #5713.
