Accused of faking voter signatures
CELINA - A Florida woman was arrested Thursday on charges related to election fraud in Mercer County after reportedly submitting an Issue 1 petition with falsified signatures to the county election board.
A reported home explosion left one injured and destroyed a Van Wert County home early Wednesday morning, according to a Facebook post from the Van Wert County Sheriff's Office.

Celina got hot early and never cooled off in picking up its first win of the season in a 51-27 victory over Wapakoneta in Western Buckeye League girls basketball action on Thursday night at the Fieldhouse.
MINSTER - There weren't a lot of accolades from the coach, and they certainly didn't shoot very well, but in the end Minster escaped with a 37-33 victory over Coldwater in the Midwest Athletic Conference opener for both teams Thursday night at the Wildcat gymnasium.

COLDWATER - Experience is in abundance for the Coldwater swimming team a season after the entire squad qualified for the Division II district meet.
FORT RECOVERY - The Fort Recovery swimming team is limited in size, but coach Mindy Bubp doesn't see that limiting their success.

MARIA STEIN - New Marion Local swimming coach Jonathon Schmitz has some experience to work with this season as the Flyers look to try and get a swimmer to state.
MINSTER - As head coach Dawn Schwieterman enters her sixth year in command of the Minster swim team, she is excited about the prospects of this winter, especially on the girls side, where in 2024 four swimmers advanced to the district meet and one to state competition.
NEW BREMEN - Returning tournament qualifiers will look to buoy prospects for both the New Bremen boys and girls swimming teams this winter.
The Cardinal boys will be led by senior Andy Jiang, a three-time state qualifier in the IM and fly, which included finishing with All-Ohio honors twice.
ST. HENRY - Quinn Lefeld competed in the 100-yard breaststroke at last year's state meet.
St. Henry hopes to have a bunch more in Canton this winter.
ST. MARYS - After a solid season last year, in which the boys finished third in the Western Buckeye League and girls were runner-up, St. Marys' swimming and diving teams bring back some experience, but will have to fill a few spots this year.
CELINA - After finishing as league runner-up last season, the Celina boys wrestling team will look to wrest the Western Buckeye League title from Wapakoneta's hands this season.
COLDWATER - With experience returning this season, the Coldwater wrestling team will look to send multiple wrestlers to state after getting graduated senior Austin Hamilton to Columbus last season.
ROCKFORD - Parkway wrestling coach Jeff Farmer has high expectations for his team this season after qualifying six for district and having one compete at state for the first time in school history.
ST. MARYS - While the St. Marys boys wrestling team had their streak of Western Buckeye League titles halted last season after four straight titles from 2020 to 2023, the season culminated in having the program's first two wrestlers reach state championship matches and bringing home a title.
CELINA - After a milestone season in 2023-24, the Celina girls bowling team will look to build on last year when the team finished second in the Western Buckeye League and qualified for the Division I state tournament as a team for the first time in program history.
COLDWATER - The tradition of excellence set by past Coldwater bowling teams looks to continue this season.
The Cavalier boys reached the Division II state tournament last season and qualified as the top seed for the championship round, only to fall in the opening round to Liberty Center.
FORT RECOVERY - After winning the MAC title and qualifying for state as a team for the first time in program history, the Fort Recovery girls bowling team will look to continue that success.
MARIA STEIN - Marion Local bowling coach Sue Bruns has an abundance of young letterwinners returning this season as the Flyers look to move up the ranks in the Midwest Athletic Conference.
MINSTER - Last winter, the Minster girls bowling team and head coach James Sharp finished the Midwest Athletic Conference campaign in fifth place overall, better than they had in the previous two years, and this season with six returning letter-winners, Sharp hopes to continue climbing the ladder.
NEW BREMEN - The New Bremen bowling teams will look to move up the standings of the Midwest Athletic Conference this season. John Parlett takes over the program from longtime coach Brian Alig.
ROCKFORD - The Parkway boys and girls bowling teams will look to improve this season after a bit of struggle last year.
The Panther boys finished eighth in the Midwest Athletic Conference last season, but returns six letterwinners.
ST. HENRY - After finishing 5-2 in conference play, fifth place in the Midwest Athletic Conference and earning a team berth to the Division II district, the St. Henry boys bowling team is looking to move upward this season.
ST. MARYS - After both the St. Marys boys and girls bowling teams won Western Buckeye League titles and reached the championship round of their respective state tournaments, the Roughriders look primed for another great run.
