Scattered snow showers occurring across the area will slowly diminish through the overnight hours. These snow showers will continue to cause brief reductions in visibility. In addition, the snow showers could produce a light coating of snow on roadways. This will result in the potential for some slick spots to develop. Motorists should be prepared for changing conditions overnight and exercise extra caution.

Leroy Pohl
Leroy Pohl, age 86 of West Chester, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Thursday, December 12, 2024 in Cincinnati.
He was born December 29, 1937 in Burkettsville to the late Leo & Pauline (Rammel) Pohl. He married Alberta J. (Schmitmeyer) Pohl and she died in 2019.
He is also survived by his children, Greg & Lynda Pohl of Cincinnati, Randy & Melissa Pohl of Loudon, Tennessee, and Robert & Ashley Pohl of Greensville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Connor, Alexandra, Cameron, Bradley & Taylor, Rachel and Lyric; great grandson , Lukus, and siblings and in-laws, Arlene Pohl of Versailles, Eileen Stelzer of Coldwater, Carl & Mary Ann Pohl of Maria Stein, Dennis Pohl of Greenville, Larry & Jessie Pohl of Alpharetta, Georgia, Nancy & Jerry Meyer of Columbus, John & Rita Schmitmeyer of Coldwater, Lowell Homan of New Bremen, Ted & Connie Schmitmeyer of Versailles, Lester & Jane Schmitmeyer of Ft. Loramie, and Fr. James Schmitmeyer of Borger, Texas.
He is preceded in death by a son Gary; grandson Aidan; siblings and in-laws Lavern & Rita Pohl, Roger Pohl, Robert Stelzer and Marian Homan.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, West Chester. Leroy was in banking, insurance and real estate during his working career. In retirement he enjoyed following his grandchildren's activities, and in his later years he dedicated his time to the care of his wife Bertie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, December 20, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater with Fr. James Schmitmeyer, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater from 4 to 7 pm Thursday Dec. 19th and from 9 to 10 am Friday.
Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
