Carol Knatz
Carol J. Knatz, 88, of Saint Marys, died 10:26 P.M. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 6, 1936, near Moulton, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (Timmerman) Wibbeler. She married Charles Knatz on February 23, 1958, in New Knoxville, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1982.
She is survived by her children: Marilyn (Jody) Slemmons of Saint Marys; Jeffrey (Christine) Knatz of Sanders, Kentucky; Jennifer (Michael) Eberle of Saint Marys.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Andrew Slemmons; Amy (Kevin) Hart; Abigail (Coty) Pendergraft; Mitchell Slemmons; Charles (Brianna) Knatz; Brianna Eberle; Bradley Eberle; Jessica Eberle.
She is survived by her great-grandchildren: Theo Hart; Henry Hart; Verity Pendergraft; Aria Pendergraft; by her siblings: Ned (Barbara) Wibbeler of Wapakoneta; Janice Suchland of Saint Marys; Dennis Wibbeler of Saint Marys; Gary (Christy) Wibbeler of Saint Marys; Chris (Dave) Chivington of Saint Marys; Gregg Wibbeler of New Bremen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her siblings Lewis Wibbeler; Eileen Schamp; her brothers-in-law, Craig Suchland and Bob Schamp; her sister-in-law, Lynn Wibbeler; an infant daughter, Brenda Knatz; and by her grandson's wife, Randi Slemmons.
Carol was a 1954 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She retired from Parker-Hannifin in Saint Marys. Carol was the staff organist at Miller Funeral Homes in Saint Marys for many years and also played at weddings in the area. She was an incredible baker and was well known for her cookies and carrot cakes. She enjoyed bird watching, doing cross-stitch work, playing cards and traveling on bus trips with her friends. She was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Adam Poe, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be given to either Vancrest Nursing Home or the Cancer Association of Auglaize County.
