Jerry Koeper
Jerry V. Koeper, age 79, of New Bremen, died on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 2:15 A.M. at the Vancrest of St. Marys after a period of declining health.
He was born on September 25, 1946 in Celina to the late Richard L. and Dorothy A.M. (Dicke) Koeper. On April 8, 1967, he married Barbara A. Forwerck at St. Peter's Church, and she survives in New Bremen.
Also surviving are his children: Teresa Koeper-Moore of West Chester and Tim (Bridget) Koeper of New Bremen; his grandchildren: James (Lindsey) Nichols, Austin (Ali) Koeper, Cody (Victoria) Koeper; step-grandchildren: Logan (Makaley) Dicke and Brooke (Lucas) Poeppelman; great-grandchildren: Alex and Addyson Nichols, Maddox, Myles, and Mylo Koeper, Walter and Clara Koeper, with another on the way, and a step great-grandson, Rainer Dicke.
Jerry was a 1964 graduate of New Bremen High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard where he served for six years. He had worked for the former Miller's Marathon and Pollman Dairy Supply and was a life-long dairy farmer. He had been a member of the Farm Bureau, and was a member of the former New Bremen Jaycees. He was an active member of the New Bremen American Legion Post 241, dedicating many hours of service in various ways, and where he served as a Past Commander. He belonged to St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen where he had served as a Deacon. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as completing jigsaw puzzles and solving cryptograms. He was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen with Rev. David Voll officiating. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen.
Calling Hours will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and again one hour prior to funeral from 11:00-12:00 on Thursday.
