Two dead in Darke County bike crash

From staff reports
The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol has updated the status of the second biker involved in a dirt bike collision June 26 in Darke County. Kasyn Hollinger, 19, of New Madison, died over the weekend from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
Ian Dixon, 21, of Hollansburg, was killed in the crash, according to a news release from the OSHP. The crash remains under investigation.
According to the release, the crash occurred on Richmond Palestine Road north of Downing Road in Darke County. Upon arriving on scene, troopers discovered that a 2005 Honda CRF250 dirt bike was northbound on Richmond Palestine Road when it was struck by a southbound 2014 KTM 350 SX-F dirt bike that was traveling left of the center line.
The Honda dirt bike, operated by Dixon, continued northbound after the collision and traveled off the west side of the roadway. The KTM dirt bike, operated by Hollinger, continued southbound after the collision before traveling off the east edge of the roadway, the police report indicated.
Dixon was killed as a result of the crash. Hollinger suffered serious injuries and was flown to Kettering Health.
The OSHP release said alcohol impairment, speed and helmet usage are suspected as contributing factors in the crash.
