Ted Alan Lammers, 78, of New Knoxville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026. He was cared for by his loving family as he completed his battle against cancer.

He was born on August 11, 1948 to parents Lewis and Wilma Schmidt Lammers. He was deeply rooted in his family heritage, carrying forward the legacy of the Lammers family farm as a fourth-generation farmer. His pride and joy were his registered Holstein herd, which he tended with care and dedication.

Ted was a lifetime and faithful member of First Church New Knoxville. He was baptized and confirmed there and he went on to serve as a deacon and elder, reflecting his deep faith in God in his personal life. He was a 1968-1970 U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #444.

On August 1, 1971, Ted married Carolyn Barrick in Croton, Ohio. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership, spanning 55 wonderful years. Together, they built a loving family, blessed with sons: Matthew (Mandy) Lammers, Kevin (Stacey) Lammers and Joseph (Sara) Lammers. Ted's legacy of love and family continues through his 11 grandchildren: Madison (Deion) Hoehne, Caitlin (Ben) Homan, Cecelia, John, Elijah, Liam, Olivia, William, Elizabeth, Samuel and Nicholas Lammers and two great-grandchildren, Cason and Beckham Homan.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Wilma and his infant grandson, Emmanuel Lammers. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his siblings, Tom (Peggy) Lammers and Patricia Tippie and numerous nephews and nieces.

A man of simple pleasures, Ted found great joy in hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren shine in their sporting events and school programs. These moments were precious to him, as he cherished every opportunity to be present in the lives of his loved ones.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the First Church of New Knoxville, the Reverend Joel Bucklin, officiant. Burial, with military honors presented by American Legion Post 444, will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery

Friends may call from 3-6 P.M. Friday in the Ministry Center of the First Church of New Knoxville, and also one hour prior to the funeral rites in the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to Grand Lake Hospice or to First Church New Knoxville. Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, 200 West Spring Street, New Knoxville, is entrusted with Ted's funeral arrangements.
