Mark Eugene Evans, age 63, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Tranquility of Rockford.

He was born August 14, 1963, in Celina, the son of William David Evans and Helen Louise (Emerson) Evans.

Preceded him in death were his father: William Evans, and grandparents: Herman and Lavada Evans, and Dorthy and Clarence Emerson.

Mark is also survived by his son: Joshua E. Evans of Sweetwater, TN and daughter, Felicia Evans of Chattanooga, TN, grandchildren: Zane, Jordan, Blade, Sage, Kayleigh and Yasmine, and a great-grandchild due in May of 2027, sisters: Diana Howard of Sweetwater, Susan Moeller of Rockford, Michelle Keith of Van Wert, and Cameron Evans of Sweetwater, his mother and step-father: Helen and Stanley Baker, of Rockford, his step-mother: Wanda Evans of Sweetwater, and a close friend: Beverly Huston of Celina.

Mark attended school at Parkway and in Madisonville, TN, and had played football in high school. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in the Infantry. Mark had been a production employee at the St. Marys Foundry and worked at Versa Pak, where he operated a fork lift. He was a fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and Oakland Raiders. Mark enjoyed fishing, dancing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at Mount Olive Cemetery, near Rockford, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, with Pastor Matt Overman, presiding. Military Rites are to be conducted at the cemetery by members of Celina American Legion Post #210 and VFW Post #5713.

Calling Hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Monday, October 12, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
