Ronald Compton
On October 16, 2026, at 5:05 am Ron peacefully passed away with his daughter Angie Jones by his side. He passed at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. The day before his passing Ron was saved through a private Baptism at the hospital. Which was something he wanted to do to ensure he would be received by Christ to have him and his loving wife, Eve to rest in heaven together. Ron passed exactly 2 months after Eve's funeral. A true love story.
Ron was born at the Van Wert Hospital here in Ohio to Gale and Vernabelle (Murphy) Compton on March 20, 1952. At the time of his passing, Ron was 74 years old. On November 27, 1971, he married his best childhood friend, and they were married for 54 years. This November would have been 55 years. That is real love that lasted a lifetime; Ron and Eve had their children young and were able to spend so much time with them and their grand kids on many different trips and fun adventures. They lived in St. Marys, Ohio for their lives together.
Ron was the father of Angie (Kenny) Jones and Brandon and Jennifer (Mierzwa) Compton. Ron was also the grandpa to Cooper and Maria {Lutz) Jones, Whitney Rose Jones, Hannah Compton and Reese Compton. Ron loved everyone in his family. They were his number one priority.
Living in St. Marys Ron and Eve built their family and later Ron became a loyal Bulldog fan of Celina and attended many sporting events to support his grandkids. He also spent a lot of time in Florida with his son Brandon's family for vacations and Disney fun.
Ron had two siblings, Randy and Trish (Pruitt), Compton and a sister, Jacqueline Sherer. Along with several nieces and nephews. Ron's other side of his family were his sister and brothers-in-law. Vonalee (Finke) Martin, Terry and Joyce (Brodbeck) Finke and Jeannie and (Charles) McMullen. She Had several nieces and nephews, a special niece, Paige (Martin) Canfield. Several aunts, many cousins and many different groups of friends that he loved all very much.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Gale and Vernabelle Compton, brother, Randy Compton, sister Jackie along with sister-in-law Vonalee Finke- Martin, Former Brother-in-law Rodney Martin, and Brother-in-law Terry Finke. With many other good friends and family.
Ron graduated from Memorial High School in 1971. He was a mechanic for several years at Bruce Green Ford in Celina. Then later got an office job through The Crown Corporation in New Bremen. Crown is where Ron retired.
Ron was a fun man that enjoyed his life with his Bride, traveling camping, gardening, both flowers and vegetables. He loved OSU Football and The Cleveland Browns. He loved hanging out with his oldest buddy Steve ("E-u-l-e-e" or "Homie") Uhlenhake doing all sorts of shenanigans. He loved hanging out with other buddies at the Eagles in St. Mary's. Ron really made wonderful friends at the campgrounds he and Eve went to. Their friends were like family to him, and he loved playing Bingo while there. Oh, he loved his remote-controlled boat to play with. Ron was a kid inside and just loved being where the fun times were. Ron also loved animals and loved fishing and boating.
