A 25-year-old New Bremen man is accused of multiple sex offenses including the rape of a disabled woman while he was employed by the Auglaize County Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MR/DD) agency.
William E. Land, 32 Meadowview Terrace, was indicted recently by an Auglaize County grand jury and charged with two counts each of rape, a first-degree felony, sexual battery, a third-degree felony, and gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony. [More]

The Versailles Tigers used a big first quarter and great free-throw shooting, especially down the stretch, to hold off the Celina Bulldogs 37-29 Saturday night in the championship game of the 21st annual OVISCO Classic at the Fieldhouse.
Versailles came out quickly and took command of the game as it outscored Celina 14-4 in the opening quarter. [More]

In the six years since Uhlenhake gave up cigarettes and picked up a pair of running shoes, he acquired another addictive habit - trying to run 50 marathons in 50 states.

Vote totals from the Nov. 7 general election were certified in Mercer and Auglaize counties last week, upholding all election outcomes.
St. Henry looking for second state title in three years
LIMA - For a chance to get back to the state football title game, St. Henry had to dig deep and battle back after a late turnover allowed Liberty-Benton to tie the game with 41/2 minutes left in the Division V state semifinal.
LIMA - Although it's hard to see in a 6-3, 230-pound frame, Andy Puthoff was admittedly a little nervous after Liberty-Benton tied the game at 21-all with less then five minutes to go in the Division V state semifinal contest at Lima Stadium on Saturday.
