Scattered snow showers will continue through mid morning. With temperatures well below freezing, light snow accumulations will combine with lingering black ice from overnight, to create some slick spots on area roadways. In addition, brisk westerly winds will gust in the 25 to 35 mph range this morning.
If traveling this morning, allow for some extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for slick conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses as well as untreated surfaces.

John Schneider
John W. Schneider, 74, 307 East Spring St., New Knoxville, died at 12:15 p.m. March 24, 2007, at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima.
He was born Dec. 16, 1932, in New Knoxville, to Emil and Edna Duhme Schneider. On Oct. 15, 1955, he married Phyllis Schrolucke, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Mark, Wapakoneta, Michael and Matthew (Brenda), all of New Knoxville; a daughter, Julia (James) Hitch, Hilliard; and six grandchildren.
He retired as a comptroller at Hoge Lumber Company, New Knoxville, and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a 1950 graduate of New Knoxville High School and a 1952 graduate of Northwestern Business College. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, where he served as elder, deacon, Sunday school superintendent, secretary and president of the congregation. He also was a member of American Legion Post 444, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 691 and New Knoxville Kiwanis. He was president of Pilger Ruhe Cemetery Board, Auglaize County Library Board, New Knoxville Civic Association, and Auglaize Industries board.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Heritage Room of the church.
