Snow showers associated with an arctic front are moving through this morning, providing a quick accumulation of snowfall. With wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph, the snow showers combined with blowing snow are reducing visibility and creating challenging travel conditions. These conditions are most impactful on roads that are more rural and are aligned from north to south. Even after the snow ends, elevated winds will continue to blow snow into the early afternoon.
Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

An Arctic front will sweep east across the region between 5 AM and 9 AM. A few hours of snow showers and west wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph will occur with the frontal passage. While any accumulations will generally be a half inch or less, some challenging travel conditions may develop given, rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities, strong wind and cold temperatures. These conditions will impact the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Indiana and central and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Ralph Deitsch
Former Celina resident Ralph N. Deitsch, 88, 200 Marker Road, Versailles, died at 8:10 a.m. May 17, 2007, at the Versailles Health Care Center.
He was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Celina, to William Henry and Rachel Ethel Runkel Deitsch. On June 25, 1950, he married Willa Rumpff, who survives in Versailles.
Also surviving are a son, Collin (Linda), Spencerville; a daughter, Evaun (Jerry) Flint, Greenville; three brothers, Gene (Clara), Wisconsin, John (Rosemary), Rockford, and Carl (Delores), Celina; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Gerald, Lloyd and Andrew; and seven sisters, Mary Colson, Mildred Mentzer, Ivy Mong, Velva Goubeau, Dorothy Larrie, Mable Denny and Ruth Young.
He worked as a carpenter until he retired and then worked at the The Daily Standard, Celina. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as staff sergeant on the Hawaiian coast.
Services are 4 p.m. Saturday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, with Dan Besecker officiating. Burial will be at the family's convenience at Burg e Cemetery, Montezuma, at a later date.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
