Marcella Mae Rains
Former Celina resident Marcella "Sally" Mae Rains, 85, of Richmond, Ind., died at 4:05 p.m. July 19, 2007, at Friends Fellowship Community of Richmond.
She was born June 3, 1922, in Auglaize County, to Grover and Cassie Haeseker Grundish. In 1943, she married Robert F. DaPrato, who is deceased. In 1972, she married Roy Rains, who also is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Bob (Janet) DaPrato, Richmond, Ind., and Larry DaPrato, Cincinnati; and two grandsons.
Deceased are three brothers, Walden, Clair and Roger Grundish; and a sister, Aileen Grunden.
She taught at Celina West Elementary School from 1960-1989. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, Delta Kappa Gamma Professional Sorority, the Mercer County Teachers Association, the Mercer County Retired Teachers Association, the Ohio Retired Teachers Association and Northmoor Country Club. She attended Ohio State University and graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1962.
Services are 5 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina. Burial information was not released.
Calling is 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
