Maurice Homan
Maurice J. Homan, 82, of state Route 274, New Bremen, died Sept. 2, 2007, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born Aug. 24, 1925, in Chickasaw, to Leo J. and Clara Kaiser Homan. On June 9, 1956, he married Joann Wesbecher, who survives in New Bremen.
Also surviving are six sons, Norbert (Joan), James (Debra), Charles (Tammy) and Edwin (Angelica), all of New Bremen, Robert (Lisa), Fort Wayne, Ind., and Neal (Kathleen), Minster; six daughters, Rita (Joseph) Prenger, Celina, Cheryl (Billy) Reynolds, Jacksonville, Fla., Martha (Dale) Borchers, Wapakoneta, Evelyn (Christopher) King, St. Henry, and Kathryn (Steven) Bohman and Karrie (Robert) Will, all of Maria Stein; two brothers, Donald, New Bremen, and Leo Jr. (Diana), Maria Stein; four sisters, Dorothy (Anthony) Brown, St. Marys, Ruth (Alvin) Brown and Joan Homan, all of New Bremen, and Velma (Sylvester) Berning, Sidney; a sister-in-law, Lillian, New Bremen; 34 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Harold and Arnold; a sister, Mary; and four grandchildren.
He was a farmer and a former Chickasaw volunteer firefighter. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, and its Men's Holy Name Society, Knights of St. John, Maria Stein, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1391, Minster, New Bremen Senior Citizens and a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9019, Chickasaw.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Schroeder officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
