Leo Prenger
Former Yorkshire resident Leo B. Prenger, 88, 5 Settlers Lane, Minster, died at 6:53 a.m. Sept. 1, 2007, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Maria Stein, to Frank and Regina Mescher Prenger. On June 18, 1941, he married Katharine Kunk, who died July 6, 1985. He then married Edna Link Meyer on March 10, 1990, and she survives in Versailles.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry (Diana) and Dan (Judy), all of Versailles; two daughters, Diana (Tom) Bills, Pittsburg, Pa., and Nancy (Gail) McKnight, Rossburg; a stepson, Rick (Deb) Meyer, Minster; a stepdaughter, Marsha Scott, Denver, N.C.; three brothers, Gregor (Luella), St. Rose, Don (Mary), Maria Stein, and Art (Rody), Chickasaw; three sisters, Annella Franzer, Coldwater, Helen (Greg) Buening, Coldwater, and Hilda (Ben) Schwieterman, Fort Recovery; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is an infant daughter, Kimberly; two brothers and a sister.
He was the founder and owner/operator of Prenger Inc., Yorkshire, since 1949, and a former mayor and councilman of Yorkshire. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, St. Denis Knights of Columbus, Versailles, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1391, Minster, and former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
