Amelia Heckman
Amelia A. Heckman, 86, 9480 state Route 705, Yorkshire, died at 8:15 a.m. Feb. 27, 2008, at the Oakley House, Greenville.
She was born July 18, 1921, in Newport, to Henry and Gertrude Eilerman DeLoye. On May 8, 1946, she married Norbert Heckman, who survives.
Other survivors are five sons, John (Maruja), Clifton, Va., James Robert (Adele), Portland, Ind., Joseph (Joyce), Monroe, N.J., William (Mary Beth), Yorkshire, and David (Karen), Minster; six daughters, Martha (Jerome) Barhorst and Margie (Don) Eilerman, all of Fort Loramie, Rita (Stephen) Monnin, Botkins, Ann (Mike) Krietzer, Arcanum, and Mary (Jerry) Siegrist and Kathleen (John) Geise, all of Sidney; two brothers, Raymond (Mary Ann) DeLoye, Houston, and Robert (Rosalee) DeLoye, Yorkshire; 34 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Alice; a brother, Paul DeLoye; and two grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, and its St. Barbara Ladies Sodality, the Darke County Board of Elections and Right to Life, and a former member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary, Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 1-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
