John Bolenbaugh
Former Mercer County resident John Vernon Bolenbaugh, 90, of Van Wert, died at 10:35 a.m. May 16, 2008, in the Convoy Care Center.
He was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Glenmore, to Andrew Jackson and Laura Lucretia Kreischer Bolenbaugh. On March 30, 1937, he married Alma Swander, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Jack A. (Sharon), Van Wert; three daughters, Jean (Thomas J.) Metzger and Carole Doner, all of Van Wert, and Marjorie (Robert) Waldron, Celina; three brothers, Roy, Indianapolis, Ind., Alan J. (Rosemary), North Vernon, Ind., and William C. (Marcile), Ohio City; three sisters, Anita Copeland and Pearl Whitehead, both of Celina, and Arlene Marsee, Convoy; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, nine stepgreat-grandchildren and five stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son-in-law, Ronald Doner; two brothers, Deloyd and Donald K.; and two sisters, Margaret Emma Kiracofe and Ethel Hawk.
He retired from truck driving for Tecumseh Box Co., and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Rockford.
Graveside services are 1 p.m. Friday at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery, the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating.
