Rachel Brackman
Rachel M. Brackman, 21, of 1679 Philothea Road, Fort Recovery, died at 2:24 a.m. June 30, 2008, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Mercer County on June 29, 2008.
She was born March 21, 1987, in Coldwater, to Jerry and Deb Liette Brackman. Her father, her mother, now Deb Homan, and stepfather, Dave Homan, survive in Fort Recovery.
Other survivors are a brother, Austin Brackman; two sisters, Brittany and Alyssa Brackman, both of Fort Recovery; grandparents, Ivo (Norma) Brackman, Fort Recovery, and Mary Liette and stepgrandparents, Donald and Rosamary Homan, all of Burkettsville.
Deceased is a grandfather, Pete Liette.
She was a student at The Ohio State University, Columbus, and was planning to attend Edison State Community College, Piqua, this fall to major in nursing. She was a 2005 graduate of Fort Recovery High School and was one of the valedictorians of her class. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter where she was active in the church CYO program.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Charles Mullen officiating. Burial is at St. Peter Cemetery, St. Peter.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Contributions can be made to the Rachel Brackman Memorial Fund in care of the Fort Recovery Community Foundation.
