Darrell King
Former Celina resident Darrell Charles King, 100, of Mount Dora, Fla., died at 7:05 a.m. Aug. 4, 2008, at Avante at Mount Dora.
He was born in Ohio City Aug. 11, 1907, to Frank and Arminta Putman King.
On Jan. 26, 1940, he married Pauline Compton, who survives.
He was the owner of King Photo Supply Co., Beckley W.V., and developer of Picciola Harbors and King's Cove in Lake County, Fla. He was a veteran of the Ohio National Guard and the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Pictorial Service during World War II. He was a graduate of Celina High School.
Other survivors are two daughters, Judith Marie (Raul) Llamas, Mount Dora, Fla., and Kaye Louise (Stephen) Callaway, Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Willis and Earl Leonard; and two sisters, Leona King and Audria Olive King Creeden.
Services are 9 a.m. today at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, Mount Dora, the Rev. Alan K. Jones officiating. Burial is at Pine Forest Cemetery, Mount Dora.
