The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Mercer County in west central Ohio...
* Until 700 AM EDT.
* At 309 AM EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Celina, Coldwater, St. Henry, Fort Recovery, Rockford, Wabash, Mendon, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Tama, Carthagena, Neptune, Chattanooga and Maria Stein.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 435 AM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Wapakoneta, St. Marys, New Bremen, Minster, Jackson Center, Botkins, New Knoxville, Moulton, Buckland, Uniopolis, Kettlersville, Fryburg, McCartyville, Montra, St. Johns, Bulkhead and Egypt.

John Humphries
John P. Humphries, 73, 805 Oliver St., St. Marys, died at 11:25 a.m. Sept. 14, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Bedford, Ind., to Belt and Marguerite Sulgrove Humphries. On June 28, 1958, he married Marie Klosterman, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Terry (Jenine), St. Marys, and Scott (Cherie), Decatur, Ala.; a daughter, DeeAnn (Roger) Squire, Orlando, Fla.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three sisters, Jane Ann Ross, Sarah Leach and Mary Jones.
He retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, St. Marys, after 30 years. He was a member of Northmoor Country Club, Celina, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and its Color Guard unit, all of St. Marys. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys. He was a 1954 graduate of Alexandria High School in Indiana and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial with military rites is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Contributions can be made to the church or the Auglaize County Cancer Association.
