Virginia Streaker
Former Springboro and Mercer county resident Virginia "Ginny" Rose Streacker, 79, of Lakeland Fla., died Nov. 27, 2008, at her residence.
She was born on May 20, 1929, in Philothea, to Joseph and Josephine Depweg-Moeller Wenning. On July 3, 1948, she married Henry Lee Streacker, who died June 30, 1999.
Surviving are her children, Diane (John) Thompson of Florida, Richard (Alice) of Georgia, Pamela Brennan, Centerville, Theresa (Jim) Kern, Dayton, and Anthony (Melody), Urbana; a son-in-law, Kevin Brennan; two brothers, Mark (Joan) Wenning, St. Henry, and Kenneth (Barb) Wenning, Anna; two sisters, Madonna (Joe) Rose, Coldwater, and Bernice Barge, Celina; four sisters-in-law, Alberta and Betty Wenning, Coldwater, Mary Moeller, Celina, and Rita Weeks, Columbus; a brother-in-law Dale (Teresa) Roeckner, Dayton; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Isadore and Norbert Wenning and Fred and Louis Moeller; eight brothers-in-law, Ralph Barge, Dick Wenning, Carl Axe, Ron Pawley, Ralph Muhlenkamp, Cornelius Muhlenkamp, Tom Weber and Don Weeks; five sisters, Juletta Muhlenkamp, Rita Wenning, Hilda Axe, Martha Pawley and Rosemary Muhlenkamp; two sisters-in-law, Alma Moeller and Carole Weber and a granddaughter.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lakeland, the Marian Catholic Society and past president of the Dayton Catholic Women's Deanery. She marched for civil rights and volunteered at the Franklin Food Pantry.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Meyer Boehmer and Reis Funeral Home, Dayton. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
