Ed Phlipot
Ed J. Phlipot, 79, 430 S. Washington St., New Bremen, died at 10:04 a.m. Dec. 24, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Russia, to Henry and Lena Francis Phlipot. On Aug.. 17, 1949, he married Mary Streacker, who survives.
Other survivors are his children, Susan (Ned) Moeller, Santa Anna, Calif., Bob (Cindy), Ron (Jane), Nancy (Joe) Ritter, Jane (Duane) Schnelle, all of New Bremen, and Ron (Jane) Troy; siblings, Eileen Overman, Coldwater, Ernie (Betty), New Bremen, Pauline (Harold) Siefring, Decatur, Ind., Francis (Janice), North Star, and Gene ((Marylou), Minster.
Deceased are three brothers, Joseph, Charles and Leon; and three sisters, Mildred Gaier, Loretta Edwards and Eleanor Schlater.
He retired from the former Beatrice Foods, New Bremen, in 1986, where he had worked in sales. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen, where he served as usher and funeral mass server. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391, Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Ron Wilker and Greg Bornhorst officiating.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and one hour prior to service at the church.
