Werner Obringer
Burkettsville native Werner Paul Obringer, 83, of Tiffin, died at 10 a.m. Dec. 25, 2008, at his home.
He was born May 4, 1925, in Burkettsville, to John T. and Theresa M. Hemmelgarn Obringer. On Oct. 9, 1948, he married Joan Dolores Schock, who died Sept. 19, 2008.
Survivors are three sons, William (Betty), Joseph (Nancy) and Patrick (Milissa), all of Tiffin; four daughters, Diane (David) Gaietto, Auburn, Ind., and Phyllis (Dennis) Hyde, Eileen (Vincent) Gaietto and Theresa (Marvin) Keefe, all of Tiffin; four brothers, Edward, Jerome and Carl, all of Fort Recovery, and Ralph, Coldwater; three sisters, Alvira Kaiser, Fort Recovery, Sister Casilda, Dayton, and Dorothy Denney, Hamilton; 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Rosemary Metzger; and a grandson.
He was a farmer, retired in 1987 from National Machinery Company and was a self-employed plasterer. He attended Fort Recovery High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Rosary will be recited prior to Mass. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Traunero Funeral Home, Tiffin, where a wake service will be held at 1:45 p.m.
