Calvin Elshoff
Former New Knoxville resident Calvin G. Elshoff, 92, of Lake City, Fla., died at 2:35 p.m. Feb. 13, 2009, at the Haven Hospice in Lake City.
He was born Aug. 7, 1916, in New Knoxville, to Gustav and Anna Kuck Elshoff. On Aug. 31, 1940, he married Vivian Fledderjohann, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Larry, Lulu, Fla.; a daughter, Donna (Stuart) Brown, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, LaRue Nolte, Sidney; and two granddaughters.
Deceased are a brother, Orlando; and a sister, Maryann.
He worked as a farmer and at Hoge Lumber Company, New Knoxville. He moved to California in 1972 where he operated a lawn and landscaping business until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, Lake City.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Very Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
