James Cron
Former Celina resident, Deacon James Albert Cron, 75, died Feb. 8, 2009, at his home in Utica, Michigan.
He was born August 11, 1933, in Celina, to Charles and Mildred Byersdorfer Cron. On July 17, 1965, he married Elizabeth "Elyce" Shogren, who survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Katherine (John) Griswold, Jennifer (William) Ross, Margaret (Brian) Martin; a son, Charles (Anne), all from Utica; and 14 grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Thomas Henry Cron.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served as a Deacon at various churches in the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Funeral Mass was Feb. 13, 2009, at St. Kieran Catholic Church, Shelby Township, Mich., the Rev. H. Thomas Johnson officiated.
