Charles Shawver
Charles L. Shawver, 68, a resident of rural Fort Recovery, died at 4:15 a.m. April 21, 2009, at Jay County Hospital.
He was born on February 19, 1941, in Jay County, Indiana, the son of Frederick and Opal Hoover Shawver. On Oct. 18, 1996, he married Margaret Laux, who survives.
Other survivors are two sisters, Marjorie Brown and Patti (Lavon) Wilson, all of Portland, Ind.
He worked at Portland Concrete Burial Vault Company for several years and was a driver for the Amish. He was a member of the Jay County Conservation Club.
  Services are 10 a.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Burial is at Salamonia Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the Portland Chapel.
