The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ralph Severt
Ralph B. Severt, 87, 408 W. Plum St., Coldwater, died at 8:45 p.m. April 28, 2009, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
He was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Carthagena to Fred and Josephine Uhlenhake Severt. On Nov. 15, 1947, he married Esther Homan, who died Feb. 20, 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry (Terry) Severt, Coldwater, and Bob Severt, Celina; four daughters, Jane (Lavern) Fiely and Karen (Ken) Hoying, all of Coldwater, Linda (Mark) Backs and Joyce (Dave) Jansen, all of Celina; a sister, Mildred Griesdorn, Coldwater; a brother-in-law, Robert Fleck, Coldwater; two sisters-in-law, Josie Severt, Rockford, and Mary Ann Severt, Coldwater; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are silblings and their spouses, Arthur Severt, Wilfred Severt, Ed and Anna Severt, Victor Severt, Alvin Severt, Mary Ann and Daniel Seitz, Ralph Griesdorn and Esther Fleck.
A member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, he was co-owner of Coldwater Grain and was a milk hauler. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in Coldwater, NAIM of the North and the Holy Trinity Bereavement Group.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Richard Walling officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
