Southerly winds will increase today ahead of an approaching cold front. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph can be expected with gusts of 35 to 45 mph at times this afternoon. Be sure to secure outdoor objects.

Kenneth Block
Kenneth R. Block, 55, 100 W. Spring St.,St. Marys, died at 1:11 p.m. July 12, 2009, at the Ross Heart Hospital, The Ohio State University, Columbus. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born March 21, 1954, in Coldwater to Francis and Rosemary Stamm Block. He was previously married to Judith Market, who survives in St. Marys.
Other survivors are two sons, Brian (Nickie Sweeney) Block and Kyle Block, both of St. Marys; a stepfather, Homer Sparks, St. Marys; siblings, Dale (Shirley) Block, Sidney, William Block, Dennis (Liz) Block, and Richard (Veronica) Block, all of St. Marys, and Anita (Dave) Roediger, New Bremen; a grandson and a stepgrandson.
He worked at the former Huffy Corporation in Celina for many years. He was a 1973 graduate of New Bremen High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps., having served as a sergeant. He was the immediate past commander of the American Legion, St. Marys, and past commander of the Auglaize County Veterans' Organization, where he had served as chaplain.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Very Rev. Dr. David Williams officiating. Burial with full military honors is noon Monday at the Dayton National Cemetery, conducted by the United States Marine Corps.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, with the American Legion conducting memorial services at 7 p.m.
