Dula Brand
Dula Brand, 87, 14245 Mangen Road, Yorkshire, died at 1:24 p.m. Sept. 22, 2009, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Nov. 6, 1921, in Fort Recovery to Peter and Veronica Braun Schoenlein. On July 15, 1944, she married Frederick C. Brand, who died Jan. 3, 1996.
Surviving are six sons, George (Marcia) Brand, Dayton, Ivan (Linda) Brand and Kenneth (Tina) Brand, all of Versailles, Damian (Deb) Brand and Edward (Judy) Brand, all of Yorkshire, and Fred (Kristie) Brand, Dayton; six daughters, Jane Brand, Dayton, Joan (Merle) Gaaskjolen, Leesburg, Fla., Carolyn (Jim) Bruns, Celina, Barbara (Kurt) Jacobson and Rita (Mark) Hoffman, all of Dayton, and Diana (John) Kahlig, Coldwater; three brothers, Louis (Mary Jean) Schoenlein, Portland, Ind., Hugo Schoenlein, Dayton, and Zeno Schoenlein, Coldwater; a sister, Sister Marie Damian, O.P. (Rita Schoenlein), Adrian, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Elvira Schoenlein, Columbia; 33 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul Schoenlein, Carl and Irene Schoenlein, Martin and Freda and Ann Schoenlein and Maxi Schoenlein, Margaret Schoenlein, and Dorothy Schoenlein.
She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and its St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality, North Star, and an avid supporter of adult literacy.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church.
