Scattered snow showers will continue through mid morning. With temperatures well below freezing, light snow accumulations will combine with lingering black ice from overnight, to create some slick spots on area roadways. In addition, brisk westerly winds will gust in the 25 to 35 mph range this morning.
If traveling this morning, allow for some extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for slick conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses as well as untreated surfaces.

Rita Walters
Rita M. Walters, 87, 03271 Minster-Fort Recovery Road, died at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 23, 2009, in the emergency room of Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
She was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Minster to Ernest and Mary Weserheide Nagel. On June 1, 1946, she married Clarence J. "Bud" Walters, who died Feb. 23, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, William (Merlene) Walters, Phoenix, Ariz., and Robert (Marilena) Walters, Columbus; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was co-owner and operator of Shenks Dry Good, Minster and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and former member and officer of the Catholic Ladies Of Columbia.
Funeral Mass is 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating.
Calling is 4-8 p.m Friday and 8:30 -9:30 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to the Minster Boy Scouts.
