* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Southerly winds will increase today ahead of an approaching cold front. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph can be expected with gusts of 35 to 45 mph at times this afternoon. Be sure to secure outdoor objects.

James Roberts
James E. Roberts, 83, 103 S. Elm St., Fort Recovery, died at 1:40 p.m. Jan. 19, 2010, at his home.
He was born April 13, 1926, in Flemingsburg, Ky., to James and Effie Stacy Roberts. On April 28, 1951, he married Betty Brown, who survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Kathy (John) Wolf, Fort Recovery, Beck (Chuck) Wolf, Coldwater, and Kristina (Aaron) Olsen, Marysville; a son, Bob (Lori) Roberts, Portland, Ind.; two sisters, Rhoda Derringer, Ridgeville, Ind., and Alberta Roberts, Estespark, Colo.; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Roberts, Salamonia, Ind.; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, James Roberts Jr.; seven brothers, Russell, Arvil, Arie, Clellan, Elmer, Austin and Leo; and two sisters, Flora Pendelton and Addie Mae Phenis.
He retired from the former Westinghouse plant in Union City, Ind., and operated Robert's Tree Service, Fort Recovery. A U.S. Navy veteran during World War II, he was a member of the First Church of Christ, Fort Recovery.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Gary Snowden officiating. Burial is at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery, with military graveside honors conducted by the American Legion, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, and 9:30 a.m. Friday until time of services at the church.
