Mary Ann Roberts
Former Celina resident Mary Ann Roberts, 69, of Seminole, Fla., died at 2:15 a.m. Feb. 2, 2010, at her son's home in Celina.
She was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Mercer County, to Lisle and Norma Gehm Wendel. On June 20, 1958, she married John J. Roberts, who died Sept. 25, 2000.
Surviving are four sons,, Todd (Leah) Roberts, Muncie, Ind., Stephen (Beth) Roberts, Brownsburg, Ind., and Kerry (Julia) Roberts and Daniel (Tabatha) Roberts, all of Celina; companion, Richard Finke; two brothers, Lavern (Kathy) Wendel and Larry (Linda) Wendel, all of Celina; two sisters, Sue Wendel, Celina, and Linda (Herman) Rogers, Sebring, Fla.; a half brother, Kevin (Teresa) Wendel, St. Marys; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, John J. Roberts Jr.; three brothers, Douglas, Gary and Terry Wendel; and a sister, Koni Stefano.
She formerly worked at Huffy Bicycle Corp., Celina, the RCA Company in Marion, Ind., and co-owned the Roberts Town Tavern, Celina, with her husband. She was a graduate of the former Rockford High School.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Feb. 5, 2010, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford, the Revs. Catherine Castello and Catherine Fox officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
