Unique Eastern artwork coming to spiritual center

MARIA STEIN - A partnership between the local spiritual center and the University of Dayton is bringing historical art to the Grand Lake area.
Twenty-five pieces of religious art known as sacred icons will be on display at the center in Maria Stein for three weeks beginning Sunday. This is the first time the Maria Stein facility/retreat house has joined forces with the Catholic-based university, which has approximately 50 such icons in its collection. [More]
Three area schools in engineering-based learning curriculum

ST. HENRY - One of St. Henry school district's most notable programs is in jeopardy without the promise of future funding.
The school - along with Fort Recovery and New Bremen schools - has successfully participated in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program since receiving initial grant funding in 2008. MARIA STEIN - Mark Delaney is a veteran of basketball coaching despite being a young man at the age of 28.
Delaney, who has served as an assistant on the collegiate level as well as at the high school level, got the chance to meet his team for the first time since being named the new Marion Local boys basketball coach last week. [More]

CELINA - Board of education members on Monday night unanimously approved a $36,530 contract with Resource One for a new security camera system at the middle school.

MARIA STEIN - Eighty-three seniors will receive diplomas during commencement exercises at 1 p.m. Sunday at Marion Local High School.
Finishing at the top of their class are valedictorian Megan Schaefer with a 4.012 Grade Point Average (GPA) and salutatorian Katrina Brand with a 3.998 GPA.

MINSTER - With a growing number of students registering for Spanish class, school officials plan to add a new, online class in the fall in addition to traditional classes.
