Lavera Scheblo
Lavera Scheblo, 94, formerly of Fryburg and New Bremen, died at 5:50 a.m. June 18, 2010, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
She was born March 2, 1916, in Rhine, to August and Edna (Boltz) Schneider. On April 24, 1934, she married William E. Scheblo, who died Aug. 16, 1997.
Survivors are a son, William (Sara) Scheblo Jr., Marysville; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Scheblo, Beavercreek; a son-in-law, Charles Brockert, New Bremen; two sisters-in-law, Nita Schneider, Kettering, and Evelyn Schneider, Botkins; a brother-in-law, Elmer Smeltzly, Lima; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a son, Robert Scheblo; a daughter, Janice Brockert; siblings Eugene Schneider, John Schneider, Amelia Smeltzly, Betty Schnippel, Wilford Schneider and Arlington Schneider; and a granddaughter.
She was a former member of St. John's Catholic Church, Fryburg, and a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen. She had worked at Miller's Drycleaners and at the Canning Factory, both of Wapakoneta. She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Fryburg.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30 until 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Auglaize County Cancer Association.
