James Romer
James William Romer, 83, Columbia, S.C., died Oct. 23, 2010.
He was born Oct. 23, 1927, in St. Henry to Leo E. and Ida M. Wimmers Romer. On Sept. 22, 1951, he married Margery Mueller, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Mike (Barb) Brumbaugh, Painter Creek, Julie (Tom) Kowick, Columbia, S.C., Marcy (Fred) Coale, Cincinnati, and Jon Romer, Columbus; two brothers, Al (Ruth) Romer and Jack (Betty) Romer, all of St. Henry; a sister, Becky Moorman, Ottoville; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Deceased is a brother-in-law, Bob Moorman; and a grandchild.
He was a graduate of the University of Dayton in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked at Logan County Bank in Bellefontaine and Citizens National Bank in Piqua and was president of the Miami Citizens National Bank. He was on the Piqua Commission and was a member of the Piqua Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus and the Piqua Country Club.
A private celebration of life was held in Columbia, S.C.
