John Steen
John P. "Jack" Steen, 81, Celina, died at 3:45 a.m. Feb. 1, 2011, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima.
He was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., to Pleasent and Ida Belle Runkle Steen. His first wife, Wanita Ritchie, is deceased. On April 18, 1994, he married Janet Prasuhn, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Dennis (Lindy) Steen, Columbus, Steven (Ruby) Steen, Celina, and Johnathn (Carlene) Steen, Celina; six stepdaughters, Vickie (Larry) Pearce, Kansas, Sandy (David) Yahl, St. Marys, Betty (Terry) Terhark, Findlay, Betsy (Ron) Coelho, Lima, Donna (J.R.) Woods, Michigan, and Susan (Randy) Wicker, St. Marys; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also deceased is a daughter, Dorothy Kaye Goins.
He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army. He was the owner of a used furniture and antiques retail store. He also worked at Goodyear. He was a member of Celina First Baptist. He also was a member of the Celina Moose, American Legion and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Celina.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, the Rev. John Parris officiating. Burial with military rites is at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Military rites also will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
