Annette Johnson
Annette E. Johnson, 85, Mendon, died March 9, 2012, at Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
She was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Gary, Ind., to Edward and Elsie Lund Peterson. On Dec. 24, 1946, she married Charles Wendell Johnson, who died Nov. 14, 2002.
Surviving are five children, Jerry (Barb) Johnson, Lima, Charles Richard Johnson, Mendon, Thomas Edward (Joyce) Johnson, Celina, Diana Jane (Dana) Griggs, Chesterfield, Mo., and Patricia Ann (Jon) Shindollar, Troy; a brother, Leonard Peterson, Dana Point, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She graduated from high school in Hobart, Ind. She was a member of Mendon First Church of God and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a homemaker and an assistant librarian at the Mendon Library.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Dean Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to service Thursday at the funeral home.
