Luetta J. Mescher, 88, Coldwater, died Dec. 8, 2012, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.

She was born Feb. 17, 1924, to Edward and Coletta Muhlenkamp Hartings. On April 24, 1948, she married Urban C. Mescher, who died Jan. 25, 1993.

Surviving are nine children, Phyllis (Dan) Riesland, Blaine, Minn., Ken (Linda) Mescher, Ted (Kathy) Mescher and Jack (Vickie) Mescher, all of Coldwater, Randy (Faye) Mescher, Loxahatchee, Fla., Dave (Alice) Mescher, Dublin, Mary Jo (Dave) Schlater and Angie (Rick) Rutschilling, all of St. Henry, and Tami (Alan) Kuether, Coldwater; three sisters-in-law, Alfrieda Mescher, Mary Maroon and Kate Lechleiter; 32 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its Ladies Altar Sodality and the Coldwater Eagles Auxiliary. She retired from Briarwood Manor and Celina Visiting Nurses and co-owned the former Mescher's Market, Coldwater.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Memorials may be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
