Maureen L. Meiring, 12, Minster, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Jan. 28, 2013, at her home following a 19-month illness.

She was born Sept. 7, 2000, in St. Marys to Ken and Connie Dahlinghaus Meiring, who survive in Minster.

Also surviving are her sisters, Maggie, 15, Gwen, 11, and Corrine, 9, all at home, and grandparents, Willard and Eunice Dahlinghaus, Egypt.

Deceased are grandparents Mike and Irene Meiring.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, a sixth-grader at Minster Elementary School and an honor roll student. She was the Sunshine Award Recipient for the fourth grade, was the Peer Pals class representative for the fifth and sixth grades and was the recipient of the Wildcat Honor Spirit Stick Award for the sixth grade. She enjoyed basketball and softball.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-9:30 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Burial will take place at St. Augustine Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Maureen Meiring Memorial Fund.
